However the sandwiches were inedible, the bread being hard/stale.
The Brompton Cemetery Friends group have been visiting the Lillie Langtry for a number of years and it was very disappointing to have a meal, for our members,which was served on wooden platters and the bread was so carelessly arranged that in over half the sandwiches, the rolling was spilling out.
The young man who served us was polite and helpful, but the food was not of your usual standard.
I have a further booking for next Saturday 14th Oct and would be grateful for the opportunity to discuss our requirements before hand.
I should add that one of our guests took photographs of the food should you require any confirmation.

However, my justification for visiting The Duke of Sussex pub was that one of my favourite independent pub groups (Geronimo) was acquired by Youngs a few years ago in 2010.
There are a few good pubs there already (the Anchor and Hope for example, which you can’t book except on a Sunday and where there’s always a queue) and there are places like Cyrus Todiwalla’s Goan restaurant Assado which I’m happy to drop into if I’m in the mood, but nothing I’d generally go out of my way for.
The menu and wine list at the Duke of Sussex looked very promising.

A west London boozer spread across the first two floors of a lemon yellow, three-storey Georgian townhouse.
When you first walk in, the decor is homely and inviting, with artwork and books on the walls, while upstairs is a Victorian-style cocktail lounge with plush, plump seating and dangling chandeliers.
The menu consists of British cuisine cooked mostly over a coal pit, including bavette steak, grilled sea bass, burgers, scotch eggs, cheesecake and lemon posset.
Plus a wide selection of whiskies, cocktails and the usual beverages available from the bar.
